The Department of Pediatrics provides general care in treating and preventing growth disorders in children and adolescents and common childhood diseases. It also practices special care in the areas of heart disease, blood tumors, hereditary conditions, newborn babies, children’s endocrinology, children’s kidneys, allergies, asthma, children’s nervous system, seizure in children, children’s digestive system, livers, nutrition, infections, and metabolic disorders. The department operates the neonatal intensive care unit, the pediatric intensive care unit, and the septic ward, and manages the pediatric emergency room. Furthermore, the department performs such procedures as echocardiogram, cardiac catheterization, cytogenetic testing, pediatric endoscopy, and tissue biopsy.
