The Department of Rheumatology treats rheumatic diseases. Rheumatic diseases are musculoskeletal disorders generally affecting joints, and there are over 100 rheumatic diseases.Among the most common diseases are: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), lupus, Behçet's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic scleroderma, paralysis, Sjogren syndrome, fibromyalgia syndrome.Rheumatic disease research has become tremendously active in the field of bioscience and one of the major areas that sees rapid progress made in laboratory tests and the development of new treatments.At the Department of Rheumatology, we strive ceaselessly to provide the most advanced care in the world and develop new healthcare technologies.
